My Tribe - Facebook Application Guide (Includes New Mysteries.)
By WryLilt
What Is It?
This is a guide about the free game My Tribe on facebook. Unlike the PC game, the facebook version has several variations including the ability to add neighbours. Some things such as potions, while present in the PC game, are not available in the facebook version.
This free game on facebook allows you to create an island, grow a tribe, solve mysteries and slowly make a great village for yourself.
This game guide provides information on mysterious objects, levels, gems and more...
So have fun making babies and levelling up as you learn about your island, explore it and even one day maybe leave it in search of adventure on the high seas...
Collectible Items
At the bottom left of the screen there is a box that gives you a heads up on what items you can find on your island next. There'll be a countdown to when that item will appear and if you're quick enough you can click it to be taken straight to it instead of searching your island for it.
Different up coming items:
- Mushrooms
- Rain storm (which gives you rare relics)
- Crates (see below)
- Stardust and moondust
- Up coming completions - crops, level ups and buildings.
You can find shells and guano (bird poo) at any time around your island. You can also increase your chance of getting guano by clicking sea birds and making them fly over the island. Since these items are so common you don't get a warning that they are about to appear.
Quests
When you begin your tribe, there will be 32 quests available. To access these quests click the quest tab on the left hand side of the game screen and then click view quests. The game will present the next one in the list to you upon completion but you don't have to do them in order.
The quests begin with very easy tasks such as building a hut and end up with very difficult tasks such as sailing to a new island, which can take quite a while to achieve.
I won't list the quest rewards and information here, since it's all shown in the quest log.
Crates
Every 2-10 minutes you'll randomly find a crate floating in the ocean. When you click it you'll be given a chance to spin three times. The three spins decide the following:
- Item class (such as recipe, seed, dye, raw resources etc.)
- Item rarity (common, uncommon, rare, scarce or legendary.)
- The item itself (for instance, earthberry seeds.)
Barrels
Barrels work in the same way as crates do, except they will never give you a common item.
If you're lucky enough to get a silver barrel, it will only give you items that are scarce OR legendary.
Treasure Chests
Teasure chests grant you figurines to add to your collection. They cannot be placed on your island, however. You can collect up to ninety nine figurines in your inventory.
Silver chests also grant you figurines, but they will be of rarer quality.
Level Rewards
- - Level you begin at

- Collect relic (after rainstorm) - 10xp
- Grow seeds on a farm - varies
- Collect a quest - varies
Neighbours
Adding neighbours will help you grow your tribe faster as well as allow you and your neighbour to work together to a certain extent.
Anytime you visit a neighbours island and pick up anything on it, you receive the item and so does your neighbour. When you login to the game you'll get a box notifying you of what items your neighbour collected that have been added to your inventory.
Once per day, you will be able to pick up a stork feather from each neighbours island - stork feathers allow you to have babies.
What do Stardust & Moondust Do?
Stardust can be used by clicking the buttons in the top corners then clicking what you'd like to use it on. Sometimes they won't do anything and in that case, it will say the dust was not used.
Stardust:
- Gives 20 rock, food or wood when dropped on appropriate storage.
- Instantly grow sapling into a tree.
- Gives science points when dropped on science station, depending on tech.
- Improves health of crops.
- Reduces time to level for tribes members.
- Increase rock or tree back to full.
- Reduces construction time.
Moondust:
- Gives 100 rock, food or wood when dropped on the appropriate storage.
- Gives science points when dropped on science station based on your tech.
- Reduces crop harvest time by 10 hours.
- Reduces an adult's age.
- Increases a toddler's age.
- Reduces construction time.
- Instantly grows sapling intro tree.
- Restores rocks and trees to full when dropped on them.
Top Tips
- Children can start working at 14
- A woman will not have a baby while she still has an infant
- You should fertilize your neighbours wilting and long crops and encourage them to do the same for you. This will stop them dying.
- 8 hours = 1 tribe year
- You can only have 30 tribes people
- The Ark needs to be built on the sand
Level Ups, Gems & Clothing
Level ups are important in this free game.
Each time a person has a level up available, you can spend it on one of six different skills - fishing, construction, wood gathering, rock gathering, science or agriculture. The more points you put in each skill the faster your tribesperson can complete tasks associated with that skill. For instance, by putting points into wood gathering, your tribesperson may be able to gather wood in 6 seconds instead of 7.
You can also increase a tribesperson's mental and physical ability. Physical ability increases their walking and action speed while mental ability increases science and level up speed.
You can add gems to clothing to increase skills, physical and mental ability. The amount they raise depends on the rarity of the gem. You can add one gem per clothing item.
Shoes and hats are only available from the pearl shop.
What You Should Work On First
Want to level up and get to the top as fast as you can? Here are some things you should work on getting first:
- Extra rock, wood and food stores.
- Collecting plenty of shells, mushrooms, guano and dusts.
- Neighbours - this way you can grow your tribe by getting more feathers.
- Having babies - the more people you have the better.
- Levelling up. You'll eventually want at least one tribesman with 10 in each category.
Stork Feathers & Babies
To make a baby, you need to drop one male villager on one female villager. Here are some things you should know:
- A child's intelligence will be based on his or her parents.
- A mother will not have another baby until her current infant has grown into a child.
- The amount of stork feathers you need increases based on how many tribes people you have. For instance you only need one for the first child then 2, 3 and so on. By the 30th child, you'll need over 100 stork feathers.
- Twins are completely random. You may get none at all or two sets in a row.
Mysterious Objects

Craft four torches (decoration)
Insert one torch in each hole.
Prize: Increases rare crate spawns and also makes one extra crate spawn per hour.

To solve place four different tribe members on the vault. One wearing a common gem, then one wearing an uncommon gem, a rare then a scarce gem.
Prize: Single reward of the following gems: One Knorringite, One Purple Diamond, One Orange Diamond, One Moonstone. Also grants the ability to remove gems currently on a tribe member's clothing and return them to your inventory by dropping a tribe member on the mystery.

Prize: You can fertilize your friend's islands three times per day instead of once.

@Polly: How old is she? I believe age 44 is the last they'll have children without MD.
I want the cloner thingy...I have an awesome tribeperson that I want multiples of.
I just tried to get two of my tribespeople to have a baby after increasing the age of the current child from infant to young girl and the female tribesperson still won't have a baby =(
Tina
Its a cloning station. You have to have neighbors with the same thing. I have one too. I finally just went to the Fan Page of My Tribe and added a bunch of random people. Haha. Then you go to each of their islands and press the inspect button on the structure. Only do it with 3 of your neighbors once you get neighbors with the same structure. I believe I read somewhere that if you go to an extra island and click the inspect button once more than you have to - you'll end up having to start over with it or something like that. :] Hope I helped.
can anyone explain how to do the 4 rock things please the bx i have 1 lit but now im onn another island and inspected the box then i put my highest rock person on it and it did nt do anything can anyone tell me how to do it please as its taken me weeks to try and solve this
i have a tribesman with 31 ag points have dropped them on my tree which has been fertilized and it says they wish they could help it to grow but cant how come?
@Kit Yes, the last hair color is grey. :)
i have 2 facebooks so the name of the 2nd one is John Fasefsef just sent me a message if you have any questions or you can friend me for feathers too
@Kit ok when it comes to the cube box you "inspect" the cube once and then you have to have friends with it for you to get the other 3 i was comfused at first too
@Zod:I sailed to a new island and it won't let me inspect the cube-box.
@Dorota: the tilted star obeslisk thing that need hair colors has 9 slots but I can only think of 8 hair colors (blonde, strawberry blonde, auburn, red, light brown, brown, dark brown, black) is the last one gray?
Re:ZOD. So I will have to go to sail to 3 more islands with the same Mystery to solve this?
What is the mystery ur trying to solve?
P.S your best bet is keep having kids with dark haired ppl
Does anybody know how to get a tribe person with black hair? I really need that to solve new mystery. I have all of hair colours except black... :( Any suggestions?
NEW MYSTERY!!! Click the mystery, then inspect button. this will fix one of the cubes on top repeat this 3 times on different island until all of the cubes are fixed.
Reward: ANYONE dropped on the mystery will be cloned: a baby will be created with the exact same genes!!!
brilliant guide! ALSO, are there any people who play allot and need some neighbours on the game? add me on facebook, because i could do with a few more tribe friends, my name is as it is on here (don't ask about the middle name... it's not real!)
cheers guys.

The level the farmer needs to be increases each time - the ninth leaf takes 27 skill and then tenth takes 30 skill.
I am stuck on the new tree mystery. I know you have to have friends fertilize it, which gives it a leaf, and then you drop one of your people on it and it flowers. I have successfully completed 3 leaves and flowers. But after my friend fertilized it for the fourth leaf, I dropped all of my people on it and it says they aren't skilled enough. What do I need to do? Anyone?
Thanks! A friend fertilizes it and you drop a farmer on it for it to flower. I have all 9 flowers but somehow I cant get the last one to flower! any help?
Nice hub.
Ya the new one, i went to my friends island and they have it and it let me fertilize it twice so i think u need friends to fertilize it (it got a leaf each time i fertilized it) but i think only 1 friend can do it twice each and it has 10 branches so
There is a new mystery with a stick in a rock with one leaf on it.. can anyone help?
I used to play this game, but got bored of if in about a week. Great article. I voted up and followed you. I cant seem to send you fan mail, so I will just tell you that I am looking forward to seeing new hubs! Hope you make it to the 30 hubs!
Babygirl, you're tribe person have to have 5th level in each of the skill then you'll have lvl5 tribe elder. :)
But I have another problem... There is a new mystery and I wonder if anybody knows how to solve it... Please! :)
how do i get a level 5 tribe elder!?!?!
I see that you have added some new Mysteries to solve. Any clue as to when you will add them on here?
"Collect stardust 10 xp" I have only been able to collect 5xp points per stardust...
Thank You for your work...
I am also having the problem of not having an upgrade option on my rock hut. So I can provide 750 wood but only 500 rock.
oh and david one of my friends said that you just have to re-build your science station and all your points will come with you
does anyone know how to get lots of stardust and moondust? I'm ready to go to a new island, but i just need lots more stardust and moondust. any suggestions?
Cindy
You have to wait till your tribe die and then you can restart.
Is there any way to restart your game? :/
is there a way to undo the effects of moondust on a 65 year old?
Anyone have the code for Cerulean Isle??
hello can anyone tell me what you get after each level up after level 20 as when i moved islands i levelled up at the same time and lost 80000 science points as my science station was not built
@ Josie :- Hey Josie...U're not stealing the stork feathers from ur neighbors like the other applications on FB...in my tribe whatever u collect from ur friend's island is equally distributed 2 both of u,so in a way u're helping them too...U can maybe use 4 pearls 4 better things, like maybe buying rare gems or hats & boots & add gems 2 those...
Thanks Lauren. I forgot I could buy them. :)
Anyways, I have everything I need to build my Ark (finally!!) but I don't have a place to put it. There's a perfect spot on my island, but the Shipyard is taking up the whole space... should I demolish it & build it somewhere else?? That's really my only option, unless I wait until the tribespeople chop down all the trees I stupidly put around the WHOLE island. :)
Josie, you can buy stork feathers for 5 pearls each in the pearl shop. You get the pearls from leveling up. I just got 3 feathers for 15 pearls myself. Theres an icon for the pearl shop in game.
What is the code for an island with a Starstone, a Moontone, & a Fountain of Youth for mystery objects?? The Star & Moon stones I need, but the Fountain of Youth... well, I don't really care. It just needs the 2 stones.... Also enough trees & rocks, & it has to be KINDA big...
Is there any way to get Stork Feathers faster? Not including stealing it from your neigbor or whatever!! I REALLY need more babies... only have 2 girls that can/will be able to 'call the stork' & one is 4 year old... I really need help!!
Thanks Kim, you were right. Sometimes we miss some of the simplest things haha.
Yes, Lauren. I believe you might be. They not only have to be really 65 years of age..but they also have to 'feel' 65 years of age. Stop dropping moondust on them until they also 'feel' 65
I read where it tells you how to solve the fountain mystery, I've tried time and time again with a person over 65 who has at least 20 science points but nothing happens. I drop them on it and it says they are not quite wise enough yet, I've tried holding them over it. Am I missing something here? Any help is much appreciated.
Would like to see a write-up added of tips including the order of mysteries to solve first. Since you get to travel to new islands, it would make sense to avoid the tree stump until all your other mysteries have been solved, as it requires a tribes member to have 70 physical strength AND one with 15 Agriculture..those take a long time to achieve. Your best best is to make sure your first island has at LEAST the Children's Moai because that requires dropping 10 babies on it, and the more babies you have the more feathers you need! If you wait too long, it will take you forever to get enough to have 10 babies later on in the game, not to mention you might have to purposely let some die if you have not yet done fountain of youth. Second soonest would probably be a good idea to have fountain of youth or star or moon mysteries. Everything inbetween, won't really matter.
Anyone else have a theory on all this?
You get to choose your next island. Almost on my 3rd now.
How much XP you get from stuff, increases as you 'research' that in the Science Center.
When you level up the XP part of Science Center, it only applies to certain things. Mushrooms, Shells and something else stay at just 1 xp. Stars increased to 7 at 1st increase of XP in SC, Moons increase to 15, Crates increase to 7, Relics increase to 7.
XP increases only work on your island, or someone elses island you visit who also increased their XP.
MY QUESTION FOR SOMEONE...IS THERE AN END TO THE GAME? DO YOU BEAT IT ONCE YOU HAVE GOTTEN ALL THE TROPHIES AND MYSTERIES SOLVED?
I tried using the moon dust on my older islanders but when I drag it over them it says it was not used. Any suggestions?
hey that island your talking about lambert is 2953067130 that should help the people that want stardust and moondust i don't like the fountain of youth to much becuase if all you can get is 30 people then that would make it to easy when they can't die so im think ether one they will find a way to make it more or something im hopeing they do o and add me to facebook cheedor1s@aol.com is me lol later
When I collect stardust I only get 5 xp
What buildings does architecture 3 let me build. I haven't achieved that yet but was just wondering what other types of building do I have to look foward to.
ha ha Adam, I already did, there isn't an iphone app but I downloaded virtual villagers which is what my tribe is a knock off of. almost the same game, very fun for iphone!
I also wanted to comment that the second island isn't random, you get to pick it and I scrolled through until I found one with a moon stone, star stone, and fountain of youth!
I wonder if there's an iPhone version of this. I'm going to check...
Great hub, but after farmville, I gave up facebook apps for my backyard garden:)
What sort of clothes can you make if you get clothes making level 3?
Anyone else sick of getting tattered clothes from the crates when you can make new ones anyway and have loads of tattered clothes and nothing to do with them?
The worst part about this game is the collectibles that pop up while playing. The GF and I are both hooked on watching for crates which ends up turning the "I'll just check it real quick" into "Hold on. I get a crate in four minutes!". Way too addictive.
cool
waiting for the time when i make potions...
Do you get to choose the island you go to or is it random?
Enjoyable Hub Indeed,
The hub contain good content regarding games. The relationship with the facebook was, something I was not aware about. Playing games is, which I most of the time opt, to go for. Thanks for sharing such an enjoyable and informative text.
Looks like fun! Thanks for the informative hub. This should give me something new to distract myself with over the weekend and keep me from doing too much housework.
Collect relic (after rainstorm) - 10xp....i think its only 5..
This game looks fun - like a combination RPG and Sims, my two weaknesses. I don't play Facebook games for the same reason as the first commenter - it will eat up my time. I'm afraid to even try it! But maybe someday I will give in and play the game...
Hi i am stuck i have upgraded my wood and rock huts to the max i can, which is 500 and they are both full. I need to build a shipyard but that requires 5000 wood and rock but it wont let me upgrade my huts to accommodate the extra wood and rocks i need. I saved up my science points to get the architecture 2 to be able to build the shipyard and thought this would let me upgrade my huts again to 5000 but no HELP!!
What do you do with bird guano and mushrooms? Are they just for xp?
How do i get more wood and rocks i try to upgrade and it says i do not have enough but they are full and i cant collect anymore what do i do?
How do you have twins? Is it random or can you make it happen? Does anyone have triplets? I cant ever seem to get enough feathers to have enough babies.
Another tip to mention is that moondust can make your younger tribe members age by two years. So if you have a child who is 12, drop some moondust on them and poof, they "feel" like they're 14 and ready to work. I'm sure the child labor board would have something to say about that, but oh well. I dropped six moondusts on my three year old and that little toddler is working her little booty off gathering wood. I figure that on a deserted island situation, nobody gets to slack off. Everybody's got to pull their weight.
This is very helpful. Can we make potions?
Thank God I was going crazy trying to figure out those mysteries. And to think it will take allot more leveling for most of them. I feel a little better now lol.
Facebook applications are very entertaining, I got stuck with some game whenever I visit my account. Hilarious hub you got hear!
great hub, look out facebook :)
Fantastic hub Good information
Great hub with lots of good info. I had to pry myself away from Facebook games, I was constantly checking on them when I was around my computer. But, this one does look entertaining!
Actually I didn't load AOE or SIMS on my new PC because they chew up too much of my time - but now I know My Tribe is sitting there on Facebook...
Oh dear, I wish I hadn't found this! I loathe apps on Facebook, they all seem like such a waste of time - but games like Age of Empires and SIMS are my weakness, so I could see myself getting sucked into this one. Uh oh....
