The scam: Some sites promise that if you download a particular program, your habbo account will be able to create as many credits as you want with the click of a button.

Why it's a scam: There is no such program. Chances are that if you do download one of these hacks it has either a virus that will hurt your computer or a tracker that will find out your user name and password, allowing the creator of the program to hack your account and steal anything you own.

Habbo hotel is a business -  instead of selling real things you can hold, they sell virtual things - called credits. The money they get paid by habbo hotel users allows them to keep the game running and pay the creators and moderators of habbo hotel.

If there was a way to easily get free habbo credits then everyone would know about it - and habbo hotel would be out of business (meaning you couldn't play anymore.)

Since credits are the way the owners of habbo hotel keep the site going, they always carefully monitor any scams that promise free credits - and if on occasion any did work, they'd be shut down quickly and the problem fixed.

Play games - Many richer habbo players run games in their rooms with various prizes. If you play enough games that you win, you'll often get a small collection of furniture and sometimes credits, as prizes.

Free gifts - Habbo hotel regularly has different events depending on the time of year. During these events, logging into the hotel will often get you free furniture and on occasion, even a bonus of credits.

Trading - Once you have a few pieces of furniture you may be able to trade up. If another player also has several pieces of furniture but no credits, they are often willing to pay more than item of furniture is worth, if they really want it. Rare and limited edition items are also great to trade, since they increase in value as time goes by, allowing you to ask lots of credits or furniture for them.

Make friends - If you spend time being nice and friendly to other players, instead of begging, you'll often find that players with lots of furniture will give you a piece or two.
